Davis earns All-America honors with fifth-place finish

BOSTON, Mass.—University of Southern Indiana men's track and field senior
Jesse Davis (Bloomington, Indiana) finished fifth in the finals of the 800 meters Saturday afternoon at the NCAA II Indoor Championships at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center.
Davis's finish propels him to All-America status, marking the first USI runner to earn All-America honors in the 800 meters.
He finished the race in a school-record time of one minute, 53.29 seconds, surpassing the mark he set Friday night in the preliminaries.
Adam State College's Nick Lara won the event with a time of one minute, 52.15 seconds.
Davis and the rest of the Screaming Eagles open the outdoor season March 25 at the Spring Classic in Carbondale, Illinois.
