CARBONDALE, Ill.—University of Southern Indiana men's track and field freshman
Brandon Jones (Ft. Wayne, Indiana) finished third in the 400 meters with a school-record time of 49.07 seconds Saturday to lead the Screaming Eagles to a 10th-place finish at the Southern Illinois University Carbondale Spring Classic.
Senior
Jesse Davis (Bloomington, Indiana) aided the Eagles' effort with a fourth-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, while fellow classmate
Jake England (Valparaiso, Indiana) was sixth in the 1,500 meters. The Eagles finished with 18 points as a team.
USI returns to action April 1 when it competes at the All-Sport Classic in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. The women's squad will make its outdoor season debut as well at the All-Sport Classic.
