Jones, Stock post first-place finishes
Men finish eighth, women ninth at Washington Inv.
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—
University of Southern Indiana freshman middle distance runner Brandon Jones
(Ft. Wayne, Indiana) finished first in the 800 meters with a time of one minute, 54.28 seconds to lead the USI men's track and field team to an eighth-place finish at the Washington University Invitational Saturday.
Senior Jesse Davis
(Bloomington, Indiana) finished second in the 5,000 meters and freshman Chris Kirkwood
(Bicknell, Indiana) was third in the high jump as the Screaming Eagles finished with 30 points.
The women, behind the efforts of senior Crystal Stock
(Mt. Vernon, Indiana) and junior Molly Gilland
(Osgood, Indiana), finished ninth with 23 points. Stock was first in the 1,500 meters with a time four minutes, 39.88 seconds, and eighth in the 800 meters. Gilland was second in the high jump.
USI returns to action April 7-8 when it competes in the Indiana Little State Championships in Indianapolis.
