Stock earns All-America honors in 3,000 meters,
Davis finishes 17th in 800 meters

EMPORIA, Kan.—University of Southern Indiana women's track and field senior
Crystal Stock (Mt. Vernon, Indiana) finished third in the finals of the 3,000 meters Friday night at the NCAA II Outdoor Championships.
Her finish propels her to All-America status in the 3,000 meters for the second straight season and the third time in her career at USI. Stock crossed the finish line in nine minutes, 49.81 seconds.
A year ago, Stock finished eighth in the 3,000 meters as she earned her second All-America honor. She earned All-America honors in the women's distance medley relay during the 2005 indoor season.
After five scored events, USI's women are in ninth place with six points. Stock will attempt to better the Screaming Eagles' standing when she competes in the finals of the 5,000 meters Saturday evening. Junior
Missy Burgin's (Sellersburg, Indiana) also competes in the finals of the 3,000-meter steeplechase Saturday evening.

In addition to Stock, senior men's competitor
Jesse Davis (Bloomington, Indiana) finished 17th in the prelims of the 800 meters Friday evening. Davis, an All-American in the 800 meters during the indoor season, crossed the finish line in one minute, 57.79 seconds.
