Eagles take third at "Little State"
Finish fifth overall

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.—The No. 11 University of Southern Indiana men's cross country team took third in the "Little State" competition and fifth overall Friday evening at the Indiana Intercollegiate. The Screaming Eagles finished with 74 points in "Little State" and 157 points overall.
Paul Jellema

Junior Paul Jellema (Danville, Illinois) led the men's squad with an eighth-place finish in "Little State" and a 22nd-place overall finish. Jellema, who made his first appearance of the season, finished the 8k race with a time of 26 minutes, 34.80 seconds.

Joe Rayman

Sophomore Joe Rayman (West Lafayette, Indiana) was 12th in "Little State" and 29th overall, while senior Rey Alvarez (Danville, Indiana) finished 14th in "Little State" and 31st overall. Rayman posted a time of 26 minutes, 49.50 seconds, while Alvarez finished the race in 26 minutes, 52.90 seconds.

USI returns to action September 30 when it competes in the Louisville Classic in Louisville, Kentucky.
