Eagles dominate steeplechase,
Finish ninth at Washington Inv.

ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The University of Southern Indiana men's track and field team dominated the 3,000-meter steeplechase Saturday at the Washington University Invitational.

USI, which finished ninth overall with 36 points in its outdoor season-opener, had four of the top five competitors in the event.

Brandon Campbell

Freshman Brandon Campbell (Portage, Indiana) finished first in the steeplechase with a time of nine minutes, 34.74 seconds, while freshman Tim Sirbek (Hammond, Indiana) and senior Rob Garwood (Columbus, Indiana) finished second and third, respectively.

Junior Robert Roads (Terre Haute, Indiana) was fifth in the steeplechase, while junior Tristan Mannix (Crothersville, Indiana) was fourth in the 5,000 meters.

The Screaming Eagles return to action Saturday when they compete in the Gatorade Classic in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
