Sirbek leads Eagles to 10th-place finish at Little State

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—Freshman
Tim Sirbek (Hammond, Indiana) recorded a pair of top-five finishes, including a first-place performance in the 5,000 meters, this weekend to lead the University of Southern Indiana men's track and field team to a 10th-place finish at the Indiana Little State Championships.
Sirbek, who ran the 5,000 meters in 15 minutes, 9.31 seconds, also finished fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with an NCAA II provisional qualifying time of nine minutes, 24.82 seconds.
In all, the Screaming Eagles had four top-five performers and finished with 32 total points in the 20-team meet.
Senior
Rob Garwood (Columbus, Indiana) and freshman
Brandon Campbell (Portage, Indiana) finished third and fifth, respectively, in the 5,000 meters. Campbell narrowly missed a provisional qualifying time in the steeplechase with his sixth-place performance in the event.
USI returns to action April 20-21 when it partakes in the Vanderbilt Invitational in Nashville, Tennessee.
