Eagles make big jump in Top 25 Poll
EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana men's cross country team made a big jump in the latest USTFCCCA Top 25 Poll. The Screaming Eagles moved to 11th after being ranked 20th in the preseason poll two weeks ago.
USI, which competes at the Indiana Intercollegiate Friday in West Lafayette, Indiana, also moved up to second in the Great Lakes Region rankings.
Seniors Paul Jellema (Dyer, Indiana), Tristan Mannix (Crothersville, Indiana) Rey Alvarez (Danville, Illinois) will lead the Eagles Friday. Jellema, who was the GLVC Runner of the Week two weeks ago, was fourth at USI's season-opening Stegemoller Classic, while Mannix and Alvarez were eighth and 11th, respectively.
In addition to USI, Drury University entered the poll at 25, while Northern Kentucky University dropped out of the poll.
