Eagles dominate Millikin Challenge

FORSYTH, Ill.—The No. 9 University of Southern Indiana men's cross country team annihilated its competition at the Millikin Fast Times Challenge Friday evening as it finished first, out of eight teams, with a team score of 16 points.

USI had 11 runners finish in the top 15 of the 75-man field, including the top four finishers. Senior Paul Jellema (Dyer, Indiana) paced the Screaming Eagles with his first-place finish and 8k time of 25 minutes, 21.62 seconds.

Junior Tim Sirbek (Hammond, Indiana) was second with an 8k time of 25 minutes, 58.37 seconds, while senior Tristan Mannix (Crothersville, Indiana) was third with an 8k time of 26 minutes, 3.34 seconds. Senior Joe King (Alsip, Illinois) rounded out the top four with an 8k time of 26 minutes, 23.84 seconds.

The Eagles return to action October 20 when they compete at the GLVC Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana.
