Eagles place sixth at Tiger Invitational

GREENCASTLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana men's track and field team recorded eight top-10 finishes to place sixth at the Tiger Invitational Friday night.

Freshman
Josh VanZant (Mt. Vernon, Indiana) and sophomore
Andrew Menner (Greenwood, Indiana) led the Screaming Eagles, who finished with 26 team points. VanZant was second in the 200 meters with a time of 23.34 seconds, while Menner was third in the mile with a time of four minutes, 31.54 seconds.
Junior
Joe Rayman (West Lafayette, Indiana) and freshman
Derrick Thomas (Elkhart, Indiana) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the mile to round out USI's top-five finishers, while sophomore
Matt Zielske (Elkhart, Indiana), junior
Ben Werling (Indianapolis, Indiana), and senior
Justin Clark (Huntington, Indiana) each had top-10 finishes in the 3,000 meters. USI's 4x400-meter relay team rounded out the Eagles' top-10 finishes with a sixth-place showing.
The rest of USI's runners are slated to compete at the Indiana Relays in Bloomington, Indiana, today. USI will run a full squad next Saturday at the DePauw Invitational in Greencastle, Indiana.
