Mannix earns GLVC honors

EVANSVILLE, Ind.—University of Southern Indiana senior
Tristan Mannix (Crothersville, Indiana) has been named the GLVC Men's Track Athlete of the Week in a vote by the league's head coaches.
Mannix won the 5,000 meters at the Indiana Relays in Bloomington, Indiana, this past Saturday with an NCAA II provisional qualifying time of 14 minutes, 45.19 seconds. He entered last weekend as the GLVC leader in the mile and the 3,000 meters and will be the league-leader in the 5,000 meters when the updated GLVC performance list comes out on Wednesday.
An All-GLVC performer in cross country, Mannix started the year with a fourth-place finish in the mile at the Eastern Illinois Invitational. He posted his first-career collegiate individual title in the 3,000 meters the next week at the Gladstein Invitational in Bloomington before winning the 5,000 meters this past Saturday.
Mannix and the rest of the Screaming Eagles return to action Saturday when they compete in the DePauw Invitational in Greencastle, Indiana.
