Eagles post three top-five finishes at DePauw
GREENCASTLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana men's track and field team posted three top-five finishes Saturday at the DePauw Classic.
Sophomores Andrew Menner
(Greenwood, Indiana) and Matt Zielske
(Elkhart, Indiana) were third and fourth, respectively, in the mile, while sophomore Brandon Campbell
(Portage, Indiana) finished fourth in the 5,000 meters.
As a team, the Screaming Eagles were 14th in the 22-team field with 21 points. USI's 4x200-meter relay team added a seventh-place finish to the scoring, while their 4x400-meter relay team finished sixth. Sophomore Robert Becker
(Valparaiso, Indiana) and freshman Josh VanZant
(Mt. Vernon, Indiana) rounded out USI's top-10 finishers with 10th-place showings in the 5,000 meters and 200 meters, respectively.
USI returns to action Friday when it competes at the Eastern Illinois University Friday Night Special in Charleston, Illinois. The Eagles compete at the GLVC Indoor Championships March 1 in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
