Mannix notches GLVC honor

EVANSVILLE, Ind.—University of Southern Indiana senior
Tristan Mannix (Crothersville, Indiana) was named the GLVC Men's Track Athlete of the Week after finishing second out of 64 competitors in the 5,000 meters at the Washington University Invitational this past weekend.
Mannix, who earned GLVC Track Athlete of the Week honors during the indoor season, narrowly missed an NCAA II provisional qualifying mark with his time of 14 minutes, 45.29 seconds.
His performance led the Screaming Eagles, who finished in a tie for 15th with a team score of 15 points.
Mannix, who is working toward a master's degree in public administration, earned All-GLVC honors when he won the GLVC championship in the 3,000 meters during the indoor season. He also earned All-GLVC honors this past fall when he finished seventh at the GLVC Cross Country Championships.
USI returns to action Saturday when it takes part in the Gatorade Classic in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
