Eagles finish 11th at Little State Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana men's track and field team finished 11th at the 103rd annual Indiana Intercollegiate Little State Championships this weekend.
Senior Tristan Mannix
(Crothersville, Indiana) and sophomore Brandon Campbell
(Portage, Indiana) led the Screaming Eagles with a pair of third-place finishes. Mannix was third in the 10,000 meters with a time of 32 minutes, 8.59 seconds, while Campbell was third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of nine minutes, 41.21 seconds.
As a team, the Eagles had six top-10 finishes and finished with 22 points. Freshman David Goodman
(Valparaiso, Indiana) was fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of nine minutes, 41.25 seconds, while senior Rob Roads (Terre Haute, Indiana) was sixth in the steeplechase with a time of nine minutes, 48.65 seconds.
Sophomore Matt Zielske
(Elkhart, Indiana) was eighth in the 10,000 meters, while USI's 4x100-meter relay team rounded out the Eagles' top-10 performances with an eighth-place showing.
USI returns to action Friday when it competes at the Eastern Kentucky Open in Richmond, Kentucky.
