Eagles edged in battle for Little State crown,
Finish fourth overall

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.—The No. 20-ranked University of Southern Indiana men's cross country team recorded one of its best overall finishes in its program's history at the Indiana Intercollegiates Friday evening, placing fourth with a team score of 129.

USI, however, was edged in the chase for the Little State championship by Indiana Tech University. USI finished with a Little State score of 45 points, while Indiana Tech finished with 37 points to capture the Little State title.

Dustin Emerick

Freshman Dustin Emerick (Elmwood, Indiana) and junior Matt Zielske (Elkhart, Indiana) finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the Little State competition, while freshman David Goodman (Valparaiso, Indiana) placed ninth in the Little State results. Emerick finished 14th overall.

USI returns to action October 4 when it competes in the Greater Louisville Classic in Louisville, Kentucky. Race time is set for 9:15 a.m. (CST).
