Women's runners make big jump in national rankings
Men remain 12th in latest Top 25 poll
EVANSVILLE, Ind.—Following a solid performance at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic this past weekend, the University of Southern Indiana women's cross country team made a huge jump in the latest United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches' of America (USTFCCCA) Top 25 Poll.
The Screaming Eagles, who were eighth overall at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic, moved four spots to seventh in latest rankings. USI also remained second in the regional rankings, which were released Tuesday.
USI is among two GLVC schools in this week's rankings, with the University of Wisconsin-Parkside coming in at 18th.
The Eagles remained 12th in the women's rankings after placing 10th in the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic. USI also remained second in the latest regional poll.
Joining USI from the GLVC in the men's rankings are Northern Kentucky University, which entered the poll at 17th, and Drury University, which rose to 19th.
USI returns to action October 18 when it competes in the University of Evansville Invitational.
