Four USI men's runners named to All-GLVC team,
Emerick, Zielske earn first-team honors

Indoor All-GLVC Release

EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana men's track and field team placed four runners on the Indoor All-GLVC team as announced by the league office Monday.

Junior Matt Zielske (Elkhart, Indiana) and freshman Dustin Emerick (Elmwood, Illinois) earned first-team honors, while senior Tom Cunningham (Bridgeport, Illinois) and junior Brandon Campbell (Portage, Indiana) earned second-team honors. Emerick also was the GLVC Freshman of the Year.
Matt Zielske

Zielske is earning All-GLVC honors for the first time in his career after winning the mile at the GLVC Indoor Championships on February 28. He completed the race in four minutes, 22.72 seconds to record his first-ever collegiate victory.

Dustin Emerick

Emerick won the 5,000 meters at the GLVC Indoor Championships with a time of 15 minutes, 2.38 seconds before returning later in the day to place third in the 3,000 meters with a time of 54.41 seconds. Emerick also was the GLVC Freshman of the Year in cross country when he finished third at the league meet.

Campbell is earning All-Conference honors after finishing second in the 3,000 meters and third in the 5,000 meters at the league meet, while Cunningham is on the All-GLVC team after a second-place showing in the 55 meters and a fourth-place effort in the 200 meters at the conference championships.

USI opens the outdoor season March 27-28 at the Southern Illinois University Carbondale Spring Classic.
