Skodinski earns berth in NCAA II North Regional as an individual
University of Southern Indiana junior men’s golfer Andy Skodinski (New Ross, Indiana) earned a berth to the NCAA Division II Super-Regional as an individual. The super-regional will be Sunday through Wednesday, May 5-8, at Lassing Point Golf Course in Union, Kentucky.
Northern Kentucky University will host the super-regional, which will include teams from the Central and Great Lakes Regions. The Central Region includes institutions from Minnesota, Missouri, South Dakota, Kansas, and Nebraska, while the Great Lakes Region includes universities from Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.
Skodinski led USI in six tournaments this year – three in the fall and three in the spring—and averaged 75.9 (1367 strokes, 18 rounds). Skodinski finished the regular season by shooting a 144 (75-69) for a fifth place showing in the NCAA II Regional Tournament in Auburn, Indiana. He has posted rounds of 69 at both the regional tournament and the Greg Palmer Eagle Classic.
Accompanying Skodinski to the regional will be USI Head Coach Jim Brown. Brown has directed the USI golf program since 1977 and is a member of the NCAA Division II National Committee.
