Mother nature cancels third round of NCAA Division II Golf Regional
Skodinski finishes fifth and now must wait
Mother nature decided one round was enough as the third round of the NCAA Division II Super Regional for men’s golf was cancelled on Wednesday at Lassing Pointe Golf Club in Union, Kentucky. Two of the three rounds were washed out by storms in the Midwest.
University of Southern Indiana’s junior Andy Skodinski (New Ross, Indiana) took fifth in the tournament with a one-under 70 on Tuesday. Skodinski and the rest of the field will now wait to hear which team and individuals will advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships on May 21-24.
At least 36-holes must be completed for an official regional. Since only 18-holes were finished, the NCAA Men’s Golf National Committee will make the decision on which teams and individuals advance to the finals at Mission Inn and Golf Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. The final determination will be announced on Friday, May 10.
