USI men’s golfers place ninth
PICKWICK DAM, Tenn.—The University of Southern Indiana men’s golf team shot a three-day 931 to finish ninth out of 12 teams at The Grover Page Classic on the Pickwick State Park Golf Course. The Screaming Eagles opened the tournament with a 312 before shooting a 308 on day two of the competition. They finished the tournament with a 311.
Senior Craig Toler (Moweaqua, Illinois) led the Eagles with a three-day 232, while freshman Blake Hilliard’s (Olney, Illinois) team-low 72 in the second round led to a three-day score of 233. Toler finished in a tie for 34th, while Hilliard, freshman Brandon Howard (Mt. Vernon, Indiana), and junior Jason Pinkstaff (Huntingburg, Indiana) all finished in a tied for 37th. Pinkstaff competed as an individual in the tournament and did not count towards USI’s final score.
The Eagles will return to action March 19 when they compete in the two-day NCAA II North Regional Spring Tournament at the Perry Park Golf Course in Carrollton, Kentucky.
