USI starts spring with 11th at BSC Spring Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. The University of Southern Indiana men's golf team started the spring half of the 2006-07 campaign with an 11th place showing in the Birmingham Southern College Spring Invitational. The Screaming Eagles shot a three-round 935 (309-313-313), 64 shots off the pace set by tournament champion Tennessee Tech University.
Tennessee Tech shot an 871 (292-291-288) to win the tournament by four strokes over Birmingham Southern's 875 (285-295-295).
USI was led by junior Blake Hilliard (Olney, Illinois), who tied for 21st with a three round 228 (75-78-75). Junior Ted O'Brien, who shot a three-round 232 (75-73-84) to tie for 36th, had USI's top score with a 73 in the second round.
USI resumes action in the Larosa's Collegiate Cup
March 17-18 in Crittenden, Kentucky.
