USI men's golf finishes fall with 13th at Skyhawk Classic

PARIS LANDING, Tenn. The University of Southern men's golf team finished the fall half of the 2007-08 season with a 13th place showing at the Skyhawk Classic. The tournament was hosted by the University of Tennessee-Martin at Paris Landing State Park in Paris Landing, Tennessee.
The Screaming Eagles finished 58 strokes off the pace, shooting a three-round 918 (310-292-316). Tennessee Tech University won the tournament with a three-round 860 (291-281-288).
USI's second round 292 was its best round as a team during the fall.
USI was led individually by freshman Matt Hancock (Ft. Branch, Indiana), who was 43rd with a three-round 229 (80-72-77). Hancock's 72 in the second round was his season-best.
Hancock was followed senior Blake Hilliard (Olney, Illinois), who tied for 50th with a 231 (79-71-82). The second round 71 by Hilliard tied his season best, which ranks number one on the team during the fall.
Senior Ted O'Brien (Santa Claus, Indiana) was one stroke behind Hilliard with a 232 (83-73-76) and tied for 54th. O'Brien recorded a season-best in the second round with a 73.
Senior Nick Frazer (Evansville, Indiana) and junior Keaton Bradshaw (Carmi, Illinois) rounded out the Eagle players. Frazer tied for 54th with a 234 (76-76-82), while Bradshaw tied for 67th with a 236 (76-79-81).
