USI is 10th at Grover Page Classic

JACKSON, Tenn. The University of Southern Indiana men's golf team began its 2007-08 spring schedule with a top-10 finish at the Grover Page Classic in Jackson, Tennessee. The tournament was hosted by the University of Tennessee-Martin.
Coach Matt Scheessele's team placed 10th overall in the 16 team tournament with a two-round 616 (310, 306), 32 strokes behind first-place University of Central Arkansas (584). The Screaming Eagles have finished in the top-10 in four out of five events in 2007-08.
USI was led at the Grover Page Classic by senior Blake Hilliard (Olney, Illinois) who shot a two-round 149 (78, 71) and finished tied 22nd overall. Hilliard tied his season-best single round score with a 71 in round two on Tuesday.
Seniors Ted O'Brien (Santa Claus, Indiana) and Nick Frazer (Evansville, Indiana) followed Hilliard with a 153 (77-76) and 156 (75-81), respectively. O'Brien finished in a tie for 37th place, while Frazer tied for 52nd overall.
Freshman Joel Smith (Zionsville, Indiana) finished two strokes behind Frazer with a 158 (80, 78) and tied for 60th overall, while freshman Matt Hancock (Ft. Branch, Indiana) rounded out the scoring for USI with a 161 (80, 81) and placed 71st.
The Screaming Eagles returns to the the links March 14-16 in Butler, Kentucky, for the Northern Kentucky University Invitational. USI finished fifth overall at the NKU Invitational a season ago.
