USI wins first tournament of 2007-08
Eagles win Millikin Opener by seven strokes

PANA, Ill. The University of Southern Indiana men's golf team won its first tournament of the year by finishing first at the Millikin Opener in Pana, Illinois. The Screaming Eagles won the tournament by seven strokes, recording a 606 (301-305).

USI led after the field after the first round by posting a 301 and maintained the lead by shooting a second round 305. Monmouth College was second with a two-round 613 (304-309).
The Eagles had four players finish in the top 10. Leading the way was senior
Ted O'Brien (Santa Claus, Indiana), who finished fourth with a two-round 149 (72-77). O'Brien led after the first round with a 71, but slid to fourth with a 77 in the final round.

Blake Hilliard (Olney, Illinois), who was fifth with a two round 151 (74-77). Junior
Keaton Bradshaw (Carmi, Illinois) and freshman
Matt Hancock (Ft. Branch, Indiana) rounded out the top ten players by shooting a two-round 151 to tie for ninth.
USI resumes action when it plays in the Wisconsin-Parkside Invitational at Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Indiana, on March 29-30.
