Eagles place sixth at Parkside Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ind. The University of Southern Indiana men's golf team placed sixth at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. The tournament was played at the Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Indiana.
The Screaming Eagles posted a two-round 608 (296-308), 16 strokes off the pace set by Grand Valley State University. GVSU won the tournament with a two-day 588 (292-296).
USI was tied for second after the first day with a 296, tying a team-best for the spring. The Eagles shot a season-best 294 during the fall at the Great Lakes Fall Regional Tournament.
Individually, USI was led by senior Ted O'Brien (Santa Claus, Indiana) with a two-day 148 (74-74) and in a tie for ninth. He was followed by senior Blake Hilliard (Olney, Indiana), who tied for 17th with a 150 (74-76).
The next action for the Eagles will be in the first of two Great Lakes Regional Tournaments on April 5-6. The tournament will be hosted by Northern Kentucky University at Cherry Blossom Golf Course in Georgetown, Kentucky.
