USI is 12th at final regional tournament

EVANSVILLE, Ind. The University of Southern Indiana men's golf team ended the regular season with a 12th place finish at the Great Lakes Regional Tournament in Noblesville, Indiana.
After two rounds of action at the Purgatory Country Club, the Screaming Eagles finished with an overall total of 610 (305, 305) and shared 12th place with Bellarmine University. Both the Eagles and the Knights ended play 32 strokes behind the winner, Grand Valley State (578). The Lakers dominated the event, finishing 12 strokes ahead of second-place Wayne State University (590).
Senior Nick Frazer (Evansville, Indiana) led the way for USI with a five-over-par 149 (72, 77). Frazer was part of a seven-player tie for 17th place.
Along with Frazer, fellow seniors Ted O'Brien (Santa Clause, Indiana) and Blake Hilliard (Olney, Illinois) may have played their final round of golf as Screaming Eagles. O'Brien shot a 152 (79, 73) tying him for 37th overall, and Hilliard finished with a two-round 156 (76, 80) and a 63rd place finish. The seniors and their teammates must wait to see if they qualify for the NCAA II Great Lakes Super Regional at Red Hawk Run Golf Course in Findlay, Ohio May 5-7.
Freshman Matt Hancock (Ft. Branch, Indiana) and sophomore Aaron Anderson (Elizabethtown, Kentucky) rounded out the scoring for USI. Hancock finished play 11-over with a 155 (78, 77) and Anderson shot a 161 (83, 78).
