Johnson signs with USI men's golf
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's golf team announced the signing of freshman Jordan Johnson (Norris City, Illinois) to a national letter of intent for the 2008-09 season. Johnson is the first golfer to sign with USI Head Coach Matt Scheessele this spring.
Johnson comes to USI from Norris City-0maha-Enfield High School where he lettered in golf, basketball and track. He was named All-State, while earning All-Conference honors for a fourth time in 2007. Johnson also is a two-time All-South selection.
NCOE and Johnson combined to win a pair of conference championships in 2006 and 2007, while taking the regional title in 2007.
"Jordan has the ability to provide an instant impact to our team that graduates three seniors," Scheessele said. "Jordan works very hard and has a strong desire to compete early. His consistency will provide the stability necessary to return this program to the top of the GLVC."
The Screaming Eagles finished sixth in the GLVC Tournament in April.
