Blake Zeller signs with USI men's golf
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's golf team announced the signing of Blake Zeller to a national letter of intent for the 2008-09 season. Zeller is the second player to sign with USI and Head Coach Matt Scheessele this summer.
Zeller starts his collegiate athletic career at USI after lettering in golf, basketball, and cross country at Reitz High School (Evansville, Indiana). He qualified for the IHSAA State Tournament as a senior and was a member of the Panther squad that won the Floyd Central Invitational, Memorial Invitational, and city championship in 2007.
The RHS Kiwanis Award winner also was a finalist in the Evansville Junior Golf Association Masters Series and qualified to play at Victoria National Golf Club, which is the 11th ranked course in the country.
"Blake is a player with tremendous potential and works hard to develop all aspects of the game," said Scheessele. "He has the potential to be a very solid player at the collegiate level and major contributor to the team during the next four years."
Zeller joins Jordan Johnson (Norris City, Illinois) in signing with USI men's golf team this summer.
