Ted O'Brien |
EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana announced that
Ted O'Brien has joined the men's golf coaching staff for the 2008-09 season. O'Brien will assist Head Coach
Matt Scheessele in all aspects of the USI men's golf program.
O'Brien completed a stellar four-year career at USI this past spring when he finished second on the squad with a 76.6 strokes per round average. He finished his career tied for fifth all-time at USI in career average (77.4).
A native of Santa Claus, Indiana, O'Brien was a four-time Academic All-GLVC selection as well as a two-time Cleveland Golf/Golf Coaches Association of America All-America Scholar.
"Ted provides a certain level of guidance and leadership to a squad that will have very little collegiate experience," Scheessele said. "Having an accomplished player, a dedicated student, and an extremely reliable person to help guide the 2008-09 Screaming Eagles golf team will be an advantage in all aspects of competition."
O'Brien is currently working toward a bachelor's degree in social science from USI.
