USI conclude fall season with 16th at Skyhawk Classic

PARIS LANDING, Tenn. -- The University of Southern Indiana men's golf team placed 16th at the Skyhawk Classic at Paris Landing State Park in Paris Landing, Tennessee. The tournament was hosted by the University of Tennessee-Martin.

The Screaming Eagles recorded a 54-hole score of 910 (305-306-299), 54 strokes off the pase of touranment winning University of Central Arkansas. Central Arkansas won the tournament by six strokes with a three-round, eight under par 856 (292-283-281).

USI posted its best team score in the third round with a 299. The 299 was the seventh sub-300 round for the team this fall.

Eagles' sophomore Matt Hancock (Ft. Branch, Indiana) led the way for USI by tying for 22nd with a three-round 219 (74-76-69). Hancock shot a team-best 69 in the third round, the lowest indivdual score of the fall by any Eagle.

The tournament was the final tournament of the fall for the Eagles. USI resumes the 2008-09 campaign in March.
