USI starts spring with a fifth at NKU Spring Invitational

BUTLER, Ky. -- The University of Southern Indiana men's golf team started the 2008-09 spring schedule with a fifth-place finish at the Northern Kentucky University Spring Invitational at the Pendleton Country Club in Butler, Kentucky. The Screaming Eagles posted a two-round 595 (300-295), 22 strokes off the pace of the 573 first-place total posted by the University of Indianapolis.
USI was led by sophomore
Matt Hancock (Ft. Branch, Indiana), who was 14th with a two-day 147 (74-73). Junior
Aaron Anderson (Elizabethtown, Kentucky) and senior
Keaton Bradshaw (Carmi, Illinois) followed Hancock on the USI squad, tying for 18th with each shooting a two-round 149.
Anderson recorded his 149 by shooting a 75-74, while Bradshaw posted his 149 with a 76-73.
The Eagles resume the spring schedule April 3-5 in the second NCAA Midwest Regional Invitational of the year. NKU will host the tournament at the Cherry Blossom Golf Course in Georgetown, Kentucky.
