USI men's soccer releases 2008 schedule
2008 USI Soccer Schedule
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team announced its 2008 schedule today. The schedule is comprised of one scrimmage, one exhibition game, and 18 regular season games.
The preseason starts with USI hosting a scrimmage against Southwestern Illinois College on August 16 before playing in the annual Mayor's Cup exhibition game at the University of Evansville on August 19.
The Screaming Eagles will host 12 home games this year at Strassweg Field and kick off the regular season against Marian College on August 28. The Eagles also have non-conference home games against Northwood University on September 5; Saginaw Valley State University on September 7; the University of Illinois-Springfield on September 27; Maryville University on October 2; and Harris-Stowe State University on October 29.
The GLVC schedule for USI kicks off on September 1 when the Eagles welcome Kentucky Wesleyan College to Strassweg Field. USI will have six home conference games, including the match with KWC.
The Eagles will have to go on the road when they play defending GLVC regular season champion Northern Kentucky University on October 12 and tournament champion Lewis University on October 26.
USI won its final two matches of 2007 to finish the year 6-12-1 overall and 3-10-0 in the GLVC.
