Moore to attend USI and play soccer
Billy Moore (Newburgh, Indiana) has committed to play soccer for the University of Southern Indiana. Moore is the fifth player – the fourth defender – to commit to USI and Head Coach Dan Hogan.
Moore, a back at Castle High School the last three years, helped lead the Knights to the IHSAA State Finals in 1999 and the IHSAA State Championship in 2000. He also has played for the Southwest Indiana Soccer Association, The Evansville Thunder, and Evansville Alliance club teams.
“Billy is a strong defender,” said Hogan. “He has played at a very high club and high school level and this experience will help to solidify our defense.”
Hogan’s recruits in 2002 have leaned to the defensive side of the field with two goalkeepers, two backs, and a forward signing this spring. Moore will join back Greg Mitchum (Louisville, Kentucky) and goalkeepers Matt Campbell (Franklin, Tennessee) and Kyle Penick (Evansville, Indiana) in the USI backfield this fall.
