USI menís soccer edges Bellarmine

Senior forward Greg Henry (Troyes, France) scored at the 75-minute mark and recorded his third game-winning goal in as many matches as the University of Southern Indiana menís soccer team edged Bellarmine University, 1-0, Sunday afternoon in Louisville, Kentucky.
The win is the Screaming Eaglesí third straight and improves their record to 4-3 overall and 2-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
After struggling in the first half, USI recorded eight shots in the second half and put pressure on Bellarmineís sophomore goalkeeper, Brad Lipe, in the second period. Henry scored off a feed from USIís junior forward Matt Settles (Evansville, Indiana).
Freshman goalkeeper Kyle Penick (Evansville, Indiana) recorded his second win of the season after making his first career start. Penick recorded nine saves in the match as he posted his first-career shutout.
For the game, USI was out-shot 14-13. However, the Eagles had the edge in the second period, firing off eight shots to Bellarmineís six.
The Eagles will host Kentucky Wesleyan College Friday, September 27. The match is slated for a 5 p.m. start at Strassweg Field.
