Henry named GLVC Player of the Week
University of Southern Indiana senior forward Greg Henry (France) was named the men’s soccer Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week for his efforts in the Screaming Eagles’ wins over Northern Kentucky University and Bellarmine University. Henry is the second straight USI player to earn Player of the Week honors, following junior forward Matt Settles (Evansville, Indiana).
Henry had the game-winning goal in both USI victories. The senior forward scored with five minutes to play to break a 1-1 tie at Northern Kentucky and scored the only goal of the match at Bellarmine.
Henry leads USI with three game-winning goals in 2002 and is second on the team in scoring with eight points on three goals and two assists.
The Eagles, who are 2-0 in the GLVC for the first time since 1991, will continue the conference schedule Friday, September 27, against Kentucky Wesleyan College at Strassweg Field in a 5 p.m. match.
