Henry nets GLVC “Player of the Week” honors, again!
University of Southern Indiana men’s soccer senior forward Greg Henry (Troyes, France) has earned Great Lakes Valley Conference “Player of the Week” for the second consecutive week.
Henry helped the Screaming Eagles improve to 3-0 in the GLVC, for the first time since 1990, by recording three goals and an assist in a 12-0 win against Kentucky Wesleyan College last Friday night. He scored the first two goals of the contest against KWC, bringing his game-winning goals count to four. Henry added another goal in a 6-1 loss to Rockhurst University on Sunday
For the season, Henry leads the Eagles and is third in the GLVC with 17 points off seven goals and three assists. He has posted goals in five straight matches.
Henry’s honor brings USI’s streak of GLVC “Player of the Week” awards to three. In addition to Henry’s consecutive honors, junior forward Matt Settles (Evansville, Indiana) earned the honor in week two.
The Eagles will play at the University of Missouri-St. Louis this Friday, October 4, in a 5 p.m. kickoff. USI will finish its week at home as it hosts Quincy University this Sunday, October 6, at Strassweg Field. Match time is slated for 12 p.m.
