Bray named GLVC Player of the Week
For the fourth time in five weeks, a University of Southern Indiana men’s soccer player has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week. Senior forward/midfielder Duncan Bray (Scotland) was rewarded for his efforts in two USI wins last week.
Bray kept the Eagles in the hunt to host the GLVC Tournament by leading the squad to a 1-0 win over Southern Illinois University Edwardsville on Sunday and to a 3-2 victory against Brescia University earlier in the week. He totaled five points last week on a goal and three assists.
In the win over SIUE, Bray passed the ball off a direct kick to senior midfielder John Havill, who scored the only goal of the game. Against Brescia, Bray started the Eagles' offense with the goal and finished by assisting on the second and the game winner.
Bray is the third Eagle to be named GLVC Player of the Week. Junior forward Matt Settles (Evansville, Indiana) was named Player of the Week after the second week of the season, while senior forward Greg Henry (France) earned the honor in weeks three and four.
