Blose and Dugger sign with USI men's soccer
The University of Southern Indiana men’s soccer team announced the signing of midfielder Jason Blose (Longmont, Colorado) and forward Michael Dugger (Hanson, Kentucky) to national letters of intent for the 2004 season. Blose and Dugger are the seventh and eighth players to sign with USI Head Coach Dan Hogan this spring.
Blose was a 2003 honorable mention All-State selection for Skyline High School in Longmont, Colorado. He also was a two-time All-Conference performer and was named to the 2003 All-Area team. Blose also has played the last three years for the St. Vrain Express Soccer Club in Longmont.
Prior to playing SHS, Blose played for Francis Howell North in St. Charles, Missouri, during the 2000-01 season.
“Jason has exceptional speed and passes the ball very well,” said Hogan. “His talents will strengthen our wide positions.”
Dugger is a transfer from the University of Kentucky where did not see game action in 2003. Prior to attending Kentucky, he was a four-year starter at Madisonville-North Hopkins High School and was All-American by the NSCAA.
Dugger ranks second all-time in Kentucky high school soccer with 151 career goals. He led Madisonville-North Hopkins in goals scored each season and was a three-time team Most Valuable Players.
“Michael played for my club team and has shown that he is a natural goal scorer,” Hogan said. “It is an added extra to have a freshman come in with a year’s training and experience at the Division I level.”
Blose and Dugger join forwards Andrew Bass (St. Peters, Missouri) and Evan Stoll (Washington, Indiana) forward/midfielders Jacy Brimm (Evansville, Indiana) and Corey Hendon (Madisonville, Kentucky) forward/back Jay Whitney (Chrisney, Indiana) and midfielder Quintin Myers (Washington, Indiana) in signing with the Eagles.
