Screaming Eagles fall back to .500

Northern Kentucky University (4-1-0, 2-0-0 GLVC): 2
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The University of Southern Indiana men’s soccer fell back to the .500 mark Sunday, losing at Northern Kentucky University, 2-0, in Highland Heights, Kentucky. USI goes to 3-3-0 overall and 1-1-0 GLVC, while NKU raises its record to 4-1-0 overall, 2-0-0 GLVC.
The match was scoreless through the first 64 minutes of the match with NKU holding a slight lead in shots. The Norse’s offense reach the back of the net for the first time at 64:46 shortly after USI senior midfielder Jeff Slaga (Kokomo, Indiana) was ejected for receiving his second yellow card of the second half.
NKU sealed the match with second goal at the 82:02 mark for the 2-0 final.
The Eagles will open the home half of the GLVC schedule September 16 when they host the University of Missouri-Rolla at 7:30 p.m. This will be the first time UMR will visit Strassweg Field as a member of the GLVC.
