GLVC releases men's soccer preseason poll
USI picked to place 12th
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team was picked to finish 12th in the GLVC in a vote by the 14 conference head coaches.
The Screaming Eagles are looking to double their win total for a second straight year. Doubling their victories again this year could put the Eagles back into the GLVC Tournament and would give them double-figures in wins for the 14th time in the history of the program. .

The Eagles made progress in 2005, finishing 5-12-0 overall and 3-9-0 in the GLVC.
USI Head Coach
Dan Hogan begins his seventh season at the helm and has the challenge of mixing 13 newcomers with 17 returning players (10 starters).
The Eagles are led by junior midfielder
Evan Stoll (Washington, Indiana) and senior defender
Brian Shepherd (St. Louis, Missouri). Stoll was USI's top scorer last season, recording five goals, while Shepherd, the team captain, was second on the team with four goals.
The USI men's soccer team, which began preseason practice Monday, will scrimmage Southwestern Illinois College at 5 p.m. Saturday at Strassweg Field. The Eagles' play a pair of road exhibition games next week, traveling to Columbia College on August 16 and across town to the University of Evansville for the Mayor's Cup on August 20.
USI opens the 2006 regular season August 29 when Oakland City University visits Strassweg Field for a 7 p.m. contest.
