USI men's soccer begins scrimmage schedule Saturday
Eagles introduce 2007 squad with three public scrimmages
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern men's soccer team kicks-off the 2007 preseason scrimmage schedule by hosting Southwestern Illinois College at 6 p.m. Saturday at Strassweg Field. The USI-SWIC match-up is the first of three scrimmages at Strassweg Field in August.
The scrimmages are open the public and admission is free.
The Screaming Eagles continue the preseason part of the schedule August 18 when they welcome Brescia University for a 6 p.m. contest. The final public scrimmage is August 20 when Sewanee-The University of the South comes to Strassweg Field for a 7 p.m. match.
The match between USI and Sewanee will feature Eagles' Head Coach Dan Hogan and the Tiger's Head Coach David Poggi. Hogan was an assistant coach under Poggi at Truman State University for two seasons (1986-88).
