USI men's soccer end homestand with a loss

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team lost a 1-0 decision Friday evening to Truman State University at Strassweg Field. USI falls to 4-5-0 overall, while TSU goes to 5-2-0.
The Bulldogs would score the match's only goal when senior midfielder Drew Vogt scored at the 6:26. Vogt was put into position to score on a pass junior midfielder Josh Weir.
The Eagles would try to rally in the second half, but could not find the back of the net. USI out shot TSU 12-3 in the second half and 16-9 for the match. TSU held the advantage in corner kicks, 5-4, and shots-on-goal, 8-5.
The Eagles will have to bounce back away from Strassweg Field when they travel to Oakland City University Sunday to begin a three-match road swing. Match time Sunday is 3 p.m. USI will complete the road trip in GLVC play when they travel to Drury University on September 28 and Rockhurst University on September 30.
