Eagles out flown by the Flyers

EVANSVILLE, Ind. —The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team could not overcome several missed opportunities in first half and lost to Lewis University, 5-1, Sunday afternoon. The Screaming Eagles fall to 4-9-1 overall and 2-7-0 in the GLVC, while the Flyers go to 10-4-0 overall, 6-4-0 GLVC.
Lewis scored twice in the first half and took a commanding 4-0 lead before USI could get on the scoreboard. USI freshman midfielder Ricky Wittman (Plainfield, Indiana) scored his first collegiate goal off the rebound of a shot by senior midfielder Carl Carr (England).
The Flyers rebounded with a final goal at 85:38 and give the match a 5-1 final.
The Eagles take to the road next week when they play at Northern Kentucky University on October 12 and at Bellarmine University on October 14. USI returns to Strassweg Field the following weekend, starting its final three-match homestand of 2007 on October 19.
