EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team announced the signing of midfielder
Danny Pratte (Florissant, Missouri) to a national letter of intent for the 2008 season. Pratte, an incoming freshman, is the fifth player to sign with USI and Head Coach
Dan Hogan this spring.
Pratte comes to USI from Hazelwood Central High School where he lettered in soccer and baseball. He was the 2007 team captain and Most Valuable Player in soccer after scoring six goals, including three game-winners, as a senior. The All-Conference performer helped lead the Hawks to 2006 sectional championship, in addition to the 2006 and 2007 district titles.
Pratte also is an excellent student, earning the Academic Excellence Award, the Scholastic Excellence Award, and the All-Academic Award.
"Danny is intelligent both on the field and in the classroom," said Hogan. "He has a big defensive presence that will help strengthen us at the back but also possesses great attacking abilities that should result in a number of goals."
Along with his accomplishments at HCHS, Pratte was a member of the Scott Gallagher Soccer Club that won the 2001 state championship.
Pratte joins a 2008 recruiting class that includes, forward
Shane Cloutier (Dyer, Indiana) midfielders
Caleb Johnson (Evansville, Indiana) and
Trey Fosburgh (Collinsville, Illinois) and defender/forward
Jordan Louks (Brownsburg, Indiana).
