USI tumbles, 5-1, at Bellarmine

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team allowed four unanswered goals in losing to Bellarmine University, 5-1, Friday night in Louisville, Kentucky. USI falls to 5-7-0 overall and 2-5-0 GLVC, while Bellarmine goes to 6-5-2, 3-4-1 GLVC.
The Knights scored the first goal of the match at 24:29 when sophomore forward Brad Barraclough tallied the first of his three goals of the evening. The Screaming Eagles tied the score 1-1 at 25:50 on the third goal of the year by senior midfielder Tyree Robinson (Jefferson City, Missouri).
Robinson was helped out on the goal by freshman midfielder Caleb Johnson (Evansville, Indiana), who recorded his team-best sixth assist of the year.
Barraclough gave the Knight the lead back just before halftime with his second goal of the match at 41:22. The sophomore would seal the match at 3-1 with his third tally of the match after the intermission at 63:46.
Bellarmine would add two more second half goals at 78:11 and 79:01 for the 5-1 final. The Knights out shot the Eagles, 20-12, and had the advantage in corner kicks, 8-3.
The Eagles finish the two-match road swing Sunday afternoon in Wilder, Kentucky, against 10th-ranked Northern Kentucky University. Kick-off is 1:30 p.m. (CDT).
