USI menís soccer falls to Bellarmine

University of Southern Indiana 0 (6-8 overall, 2-6 GLVC)
The University of Southern Indiana menís soccer team was shutout by Bellarmine University, 3-0, this evening at Strassweg Field. The Screaming Eagles gave up a goal in the first half and two more in the second half as they fell to 6-8 overall and 2-6 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
After being held to just three shots in the first half, USI unleashed its offense in the second half, sending 10 balls towards the Bellarmine goal. However, Bellarmineís goalkeeper Brad Lipe came up with six saves while his teammates tapped in with two more to hold the Eagles scoreless for the fourth time this season.
Sophomore Jared Anslinger (Evansville, Indiana) and Scott Henderson (Evansville, Indiana) had three shots each to lead the Eaglesí attack.
Defensively, Josh Hill (Maple Park, Illinois) got his first start in goal for the Eagles. The sophomore gave up three goals and recording four saves.
USI will host Northern Kentucky University for Senior Day this Sunday at Strassweg Field. The match is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. The Eagles will conclude their GLVC and home schedule Wednesday, October 24 as they host Kentucky Wesleyan College in a make up game. That match is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Strassweg Field.
