USI men’s tennis falls to Rockhurst
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill.—The University of Southern Indiana men’s tennis team won at number one doubles but lost at number two and three doubles before falling at number four, five, and six singles en route to a 5-1 setback to Rockhurst University Wednesday.
Freshman Joe Epkey (Greenwood, Indiana) teamed up with senior Weston Phillips (Henderson, Kentucky) to pick up USI’s lone victory in the match. The two improve to 9-3 overall and 3-2 at number one singles.
The Screaming Eagles (5-4) will play regional foe Northwood University Saturday, March 20, in Elkhart, Indiana. USI opens GLVC play Tuesday, March 23, against Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky.
