USI men's tennis bows out of ITA regional

MIDLAND, Mich. – The University of Southern Indiana men's tennis team had its time in 2005 Wilson/ITA Great Lakes Regional cut short this as sophomore Andrew McGuire (Greenwood, Indiana) and freshman Christoph Burger (Germany) lost in the quarterfinals.
Burger, seeded 12th in the tournament, had advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating Shane Holzman of Mercyhurst College and Felipe Rojas of the University of Indianapolis in straight sets. McGuire opened the tournament with a tie-breaker win over 14th-seeded Carlos Canudas of Northwood University and advanced with a tie-breaker win over Jose Rivas of Grand Valley State University.
The Screaming Eagles will conclude the falls part of the 2005-06 campaign in the University of Louisville Invitational October 7-9 in Louisville, Kentucky.
