Burger leads USI at the ITA Regional
INDIANAPOLIS University of Southern Indiana junior Christoph Burger (Germany) led the Screaming Eagles in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Great Lakes Regional, advancing to the round of 16 before bowing out. Burger lost to Drury University's Ali Chaudhry in a tie-breaker (6-2, 1-6, 2-10).
Burger also combined with sophomore Bodene Scott (Australia) to advance as far as the third round before losing an 8-4 decision to the University of Indianapolis' Jan Stastny and Joshua Greenlee, 8-4.
The finals action of the fall for the Eagles will be September 30 at the University of Tennessee-Martin. USI will play a neutral site dual match against Lipscomp University at 10 a.m. and a road match against UT-Martin at 3 p.m.
