Men's tennis closes fall schedule
Lipscomb 6, USI 1 UTM 6, USI 1
MARTIN, Tenn. The University of Southern Indiana men's tennis team closed out the fall half of the 2006-07 with a pair of losses in Martin, Tennessee. The Screaming Eagles lost to Lipscomb University and the University of Tennessee-Martin by identical 6-1 scores.
USI junior Christoph Burger (Germany) led the Eagles, winning twice at number one singles. Burger defeated Lipscomb's Mike Sherman (6-1, 6-4) and UTM's Stephan Bruwer (6-3, 6-2) in straight sets.
Burger also combined with sophomore Bodene Scott (Australia) for a victory at number one double against Lipscomb. Burger and Scott defeated Daniel Hangstefer and David Carrillo, 8-5.
